ECC 3rd XI vs Slinfold CC, Friendly XI
For our second friendly before the league kicked off next week. We welcomed Slinfold to Slindon. Another 7 players making their senior debut for the team, with two father and son pairs forming part of the team.
Skipper won the toss and elected to Bat, to see how our sporting wicket fared this week.
Jon and Xander opened the batting for us and set off at a good space. We lost some wickets early with all the batters facing a mix of pace and spin, and a strong fielding team.
Eastergate finished on 94 - All out.
We put on a good bowling attack, but the two opening batsmen were very strong and were hard for us to dismiss.
Nick took our only wicket of the game and Buster made the catch to remove one of the batters. Slinfold were quick to reach the 95 runs.
