ECC 3rd XI vs Ifield CC, 4th XI
What an exciting match to commence start of Eastergates 3rd XI. Very excited to be playing at Slindon and welcoming Ifield for a friendly game before the season kicks off.
With 7 of the 11 making their debut their senior debut for Eastergate. Won the toss and elected to field, we started strong in our bowling attack. slowly made our way through Ifield’s bat order. Everyone pulled out all the stops throughout the entire innings with some brilliant bowling from Toby, Harry, Harry, Rob and Will with some excellent catches from Pete Rufus and Harry.
Eastergate went out to back with a reasonable total to chase of 152, our top order putting some runs on the board. Sadly we fell to their spin bowling which caught many of us out seeing us finish on 143.
The whole team put in an incredible effort, Lots of promising forms for an exciting season ahead.
