U10s first game of the season
What a team!!!!
The U10s faced stiff opposition from Aldwick at home today. With many of these lads playing their first ever game of cricket there were a lot of nerves before the game.
The coaches' prematch talk centred around the most important part of cricket - enjoyment! The lads were reminded that if they went out onto the pitch and had fun, encouraged their team mates (and opposition) in a positive way and played their best then their club would be proud of them. And we are definitely proud of them!! Not only did they go out onto the pitch and do everything we asked of them and more, they went on to win the match!!
Man of the Match could have gone to each and every one of them today but was awarded to Oscar for swift and efficient fielding, (including an amazing wicket with the ball being thrown in from third man and hitting the stumps cleanly long before the batsman arrived.) and superb batting - each time finding a space to knock the ball into to rack up 19 runs from his 4 overs including three 4s.
Credit must also go to Harry who managed to get 17 runs and Will and Jacob who both got 11.
