U10s at home v Middleton

It was touch and go whether we'd manage to put together a team for today's match due to clashing activities but with debut performances from U8 Thijs and, new this season, Toby (both of whom gained their first wicket in this match) along with Middleton kindly letting us play a side that included a couple of extra play downs we were able to let the match go ahead.

We won the toss and elected to field first.

Our team was keen and fielded well, not giving away too many wides and managing 9 wickets altogether - a combination of spot-on bowling and superb catches. Middleton finished on a score of 149.

Our batters were paired and excited to go out and prove what we could do, they played steadily and the runs crept up. By the time the last pair went in we were in 152 runs for just 4 wickets. We could win if the final pair just didn't get out. Not only did they not get out, Joe managed an incredible four 4s and four 6s within the innings, cranking our score up to a winning 210. Apparently Joe loved the delivery from the Middleton bowler!!

Well done to all who played and big thanks to Middleton who accommodated our play downs.
