1st XI WIN!!!

Eastergate travelled to Worthing Chipps and came out on top in a low scoring affair. Chipps won the toss and elected to bowl first on what looked like a sticky wicket, the decision looked a good one when Eastergate went from 23-0 to 23-3 in the space of a few balls. This brought Ash Rule (37) and Josh Cole (24) to the crease who stabilised the Eastergate innings soaking up 162 deliveries between then, this laid the platform for a Jamie Murphy cameo who scored 30 off 26 balls, Eastergate ending their innings on 136-9 knowing that would take some chasing. Chipps began their innings in similar fashion by reaching 23-0 before loosing 2 quick wickets and continuing to loose them at regular intervals before being bowled out for 96! The wickets were shared amongst the bowlers with Pete Smith picking up 3-27 and his opening partner Jack Saunders 2-14. Eastergate pick up 30 points and move to 3rd place in the league
