Community Rounders Day

Bank Holiday Monday saw ECC host their inaugural Community Rounders Day.
The Women’s team, led by their Captain Ash, orchestrated a fabulous day - full of fun, laughter, and, of course, rounders!
Eight teams entered - lots of new and familiar faces - with entries from the club’s youngest junior teams right the way through to the Men’s 1st & 2nd teams, plus friends and families and even a contingent from WRFC Worthing Rugby Club!

Teams began to set up ‘camp’ around the outskirts of the field from around 10 am and with music playing, the atmosphere was soon building. The group stages were kicked off by the chief umpire, player, and co-organiser Tom, with each team playing 3 matches to determine their place in the table.
The day swiftly progressed to the play-offs, with all teams competing for a place in the semi-finals. The final match, late in the afternoon, saw ‘Team Tom’s Brother’ face ‘Team Class on Grass’’. After a well-fought battle, Team Class on Grass has crowned champions, taking away a well-earned hamper as overall winners, leaving Team Tom’s Brother taking away 2nd place medals.

The day wouldn’t have happened without all the contributions from the Women's team - Captain, Manager, Coaches, and Supporters! Massive thanks to everyone who came to support ECC for this new event.
